Kaleidoscope Inn with Nicole & Ben and Disney, Big & Crazy!

We went back to Kaleidoscope this week with Ben and Nicole. They had that "thing", the vibe that we love to see from our Bride & Groom at any Wedding. It comes from a truly well matched, well loved couple finally seeing what all the time, money and work ads up to. Over 250 guests heaped the Love on them all night, gotta say it, they had the day they wanted. The Ceremony was in the Gardens at Kaleidoscope Inn in Nipomo, Cal. and was beautiful. A warm day with a breeze, perfect. The guests had cocktails and fun in the courtyard and then returned to the gardens where all 250+ we're seated for dinner. Afterwards, the stuff, all the dancing and all the craziness went right up to the last minute with a big send off at the front of the Victorian. I love mixing for a group that gives you back this kind of energy, Once again I'll say it, their team of vendors made a huge difference! Here are all the details......
Thank You To Nicole & Ben, Now go do the "Happily Ever After" :)

Mallory and Cory had a great Wedding at Kaleidoscope Inn on a warm Saturday afternoon in July.
We set for the reception in the Garden with 140 guests and very fun casual style. The Gardens are unreal this time of year with the Central Coast Victorian style so many Brides are shooting for this season, and every season for that matter. After the ceremony the guests were treated to a cocktail hour and Dinner. We always want the dancing to be fun, and this Event was no exception! Even with the late afternoon sun beating down on the dance floor this was a dance party from start to finish with mainstream dance, classic rock and even some country mixed in. What a blast! "The Meritage Room" is the perfect place to stage the reception. Rob and Kim - June 21st.

This couple came from San Diego and had their Destination Wedding  in Cambria. You'd think by looking at a Beautiful Garden Setting like this that is was a low key event, .....NOPE! They had their ceremony here in the Garden at Cambria Pines and it was Beautiful, but what really shined was the Couple. They we're as nice as any I've ever worked with. I Loved this event, We got to work with another of the great Photographers in our area Katie Disimone, She's a pro who makes it fun. The Lodge is awesome for events with a truly personal feel and great rooms for the guests to stay right there with cool amenities. The Reception was really fun, after a cocktail hour and Photo's on the lawn, the guests joined Rob & Kim for a wonderful plated dinner and then onto the dance floor. The room and had a cool glow Lit by the Blue Green "up lighting" we provided. Great touches of style were added to the room, like a huge table full of wonderful pies. If You're planning a Wedding, consider Cambria Pines Lodge, You'll love it. NOW.....,

Brittany & Jeff had an AWESOME Wedding at Thousand Hills Ranch June 15th!

This was another one I will keep in mind when People ask me about some of the Best Weddings I've ever been part of. The Bride and Groom are about as country as it gets, hard working  horse riding, barrel racing crazy people who also packed the floor with classic rock, Hip Hop and mainstream dance under a huge Gobo image we provided in light of their new BRAND, how cool is that? Over a year ago, we started this process with them and we were given to a coordinator Named Katie Baca. (805-458-3973), This girl is no joke..... She took a team of vendors and along with the Bride helped create an event that included 225 + guests from all over. The size alone was a big job but she managed to keep everything on track and rolling, every Wedding will have it's own challenges and It just takes an eye for the flow of the night that not everyone has, she nailed it. Good Job Katie! I'll work with you any time. If you're a "Bride to be" planning a Wedding always have a strong coordinator who gets you and your style. It also has to be said that once again we were blessed with a Bride & Groom who really participated in every aspect of the Day. The success and the fun started with them which made the night Rock, it's just cool when it goes like that. Crazy Fun with Crazy people always works out to be .. well Crazy..lol
Two very cool Families and a ton of close friends were recorded in pictures by another amazing Photographers, this time Dana from Blessed Beyond Belief Photography.  http://www.blessedbeyondbeliefphotography.com/  We love working with a pro who takes care of the Bride & Groom in every part of the process, she's great to work with and always a smiling face along the way, but her pictures speak for themselves. Simply put She captures the mood of the day.
The Food was provided by Thousand Hills Ranch and it was fantastic, this location lends itself to having great food, I mean, it is a Cattle Ranch..lol THR is quickly becoming one of the best locations on the Central Coast to get married if it isn't already. It's beyond beautiful and is 2000 acres of paradise.... owned and shared by one of the nicest families I've ever met. It is the Wow factor by itself.
The ceremony was held in a pasture close by that serves as open space on the Ranch. The ceremony was presided over by a Family friend who was clearly moved by the moment. The Bride came down the isle to a country song called "Makin' Plans" which was perfect for the day and the Girl.
The guests were then moved into the huge Barn for cocktail hour, which was made to look incredible with a touch of country style that rivals anywhere we've seen. The B&G joined us later after the pics and came in to the Grand Entrance to the song "Save A Horse, Ride A Cowboy!" ...lol We then went into the 1st dance which was a Jamey Johnson song called "It Was Me" My reason for giving you the names of the songs is to give other Brides a chance to find that style, this was really different, really cool wedding and VERY fun. Congratulations Gamble's you had the best send off anyone could ask for, now go live Happily ever after......& Thanks for letting Me be part of your amazing day on the Ranch.  ... DJ Bob

DJ BOB's BLOG / www.p1dj.com: The Fun they wanted, their way! Ali & Chris 6.1 at Grace Maralyn Estate & Gardens

The Fun they wanted, their way! Ali & Chris 6.1 at Grace Maralyn Estate & Gardens

A Hot Day, 160 guests, A Bride & Groom who wanted "THE DAY" and something that just worked. They had a dream team of vendors Led by Terry the coordinator and a venue with one of the best Central Coast Vibe's I know. Their Venue was The Grace Maralyn Estate & Gardens www.thegracemaralyn.com , A Modern Victorian with a wonderful set up. "The Day" was to include a pairing of live music and our part was to create a dance floor  experience that rivals a night club inside a barn, but starting while the sun was still up on the hottest day yet this year (around 100). With any other event the heat might have gotten to them, but not this group, From the ceremony to the Last Song this thing went off!
I was pared with one of the best musicians I've ever worked with, his name is Matt Bolton www.mattbolton.com  , Imagin a guy performing Everything from Tom Petty to his own cuts and just nailing it. He did the Ceremony music & the Cocktail Hour (with signature martini's flowing all around) and was incredible! What a great way to kick off this event. While we were listening to Matt, another great vendor was doing his thing, Ken Kienow The photographer.
( http://www.kenkienow.com ) he's one of my favorite people in this business and when we work together, it's bound to be a blast. His pictures speak for themselves but I put just as much importance on the kind of person he is, and great is great.
We went on to a great Buffet style dinner prepared by Phil's Catering, http://www.philscatering.com with "Perky" and the rest of their crew working hard and getting it done in the heat. The food was perfect for this day, just enough and very tasty!
After a great dinner, it was time to rock this party! We played everything on the map, from Mainstream and Hip Hop to Country and Rock and the floor stayed packed until the very end of the night. I had to pull every skill I have to make this night what it was but the Bride and Groom did what We suggest to Every bride and Groom, make it "Fun with Style" Be part of your Day! If you are planning a Wedding, the most important thing to the success of the day is to  be vested in what you're creating. In other words, If you're having fun, so will your guests.  The dance floor was packed and just going off at 10 when we ended, what a day, This was "The Day" for one of our amazing couples.

Memorial Weekend Wedding at Vandenberg Air Force Base!

I couldn't think of a better way to spend Memorial weekend than to DJ for a very cool couple and be a part of their Wedding Day. He is a Captain in the United States Air Force (The father of the Groom is a Lt. Colonel) and They had their day in the Pavilion on Vandenberg Air Force Base. The cool factor was turned up a notch when we drove right by a rocket on the way in and by the location and how it staged so easily for a Wedding like this. If you're choosing a wedding venue, look for things like the proximity to the ceremony (this time very close) and where the load in for your vendors will be. It makes the Day go so well when the flow of the service and the flow of the guests is easy. Talk to your vendors, they are your very best resource for a great Day. In this case it was as easy as it gets and staged so well.
The ceremony (all be it wind blown :) was really nice and Pastor "Aaron" from The Element Christian Church was the officiant. http://www.ourelement.org This is a young and very good Pastor who really made it special for Scott & Aimee. Her Colors were White / Black with Ivory and Amber. The beautiful Pavilion behind them served as backdrop with all of the guests seated in brown and white chairs.
After the Ceremony, Their guests were treated to great finger food and cocktails with a hosted bar that was set up for FUN. We played a lite mix of modern mainstream, country and top-40 while the Bride and Groom went for pictures. The Hour wrapped just before dinner with The Grand Entrance and the entire Bridal party being introduced to Macklemore's "Thrift shop" uhhhh, the clean version.:) The Dinner was prepared and ready for Guests and they took part in an over the top Tri-Tip and Chicken dinner including all the fixin's.  Mario and his crew from the Far Western  www.farwesterntavern.com did an amazing job as always, some of the best BBQ I've ever had at a wedding. That's the biggest compliment I can give.... lol
The dancing was about as fun and off the hook as it gets at a wedding!  the format was everything main stream and funky, with high energy dance, old-school and even a little country thrown in. We even ran overtime because things were going off and well, they didn't want to stop! The Bride and Groom did everything right to make this night amazing! This part of the night was very important to Scott and Aimee and if your planning a wedding, do what they did, be fully involved and part of the party. When the Bride and Groom are present and having fun, the whole party just works. This was....... as we say, "FUN with Style!" Thank You Scott and Aimee! You made us feel like we are part of your family through this entire process. And now....... Go and live happily ever after, that's an order Captain! :)
